Behind the Mask

In this Wednesday’s Wisdom Share;
Tommi will explain what is means to wear a mask, as a black woman, 24 hours a day. From her perspective, she will share the “real” story behind her experiences living with racism.
Racism is much deeper than the occasional (or frequent) racial slur or epithet and its impact cuts to the quick in ways that are unimaginable…
Tommi will share with you decisions she has made as a result of her “blackness”– born of another skin color she may not have chosen to make. She will also share with you her take on the current events surrounding the Black Lives Matter movement. She will share with you the ongoing practices she must engage in to remain Spiritually grounded in situations that demonstrate a lack of cultural awareness or that are rooted in racial division.
Finally, Tommi will leave you with a call to action…answer the call and you will contribute to the creation of a world that works for everyone.
About Tommi:
Tommi Jones is a Licensed Practitioner with the Centers for Spiritual Living. Tommi has been a licensed practitioner for six years. Her experiences with new thought and Science of Mind span more than three decades. Tommi was first introduced to Science of Mind teachings as an adolescent at the Riverside, Church of Religious Science as a youth.
Tommi believes in the Science of Mind teachings, but the journey to her faith has been long and arduous. Life experiences distanced her from the teachings, but it was those same experiences that define the depth of her faith and commitment to Science of Mind today.
